Description

These Ultimate Cheesy Loaded Fries are the perfect comfort food, with crispy fries topped with gooey melted cheese, savory bacon, sour cream, and green onions. They’re perfect as a snack, side dish, or indulgent meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium russet potatoes, cut into fries
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese (or a blend of cheddar and Monterey Jack)
  • ½ cup cooked bacon, crumbled
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp green onions, sliced
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)
  • ¼ tsp paprika (optional)
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Fries:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Wash and peel the potatoes (if desired), then cut them into fries. Toss the fries in olive oil and season with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.

  2. Bake the Fries:
Spread the fries in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 30-35 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.

  3. Melt the Cheese:
Once the fries are done, remove them from the oven. Immediately sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the hot fries so that the cheese melts evenly.

  4. Top the Fries:
After the cheese has melted, top the fries with crumbled bacon, a dollop of sour cream, and sliced green onions.

  5. Serve and Enjoy:
Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired, and serve immediately while the fries are still hot and cheesy.

Notes

  • For a variation, you can add jalapeños for a spicy kick or chili for a hearty twist.
  • You can make these loaded fries even more indulgent by adding guacamole or salsa as toppings.
  • Use any cheese you prefer; mozzarella and pepper jack are great alternatives.
