These soft and chewy Valentine Crinkle Cookies are a festive treat, perfect for spreading love on Valentine’s Day! With a crackly, powdered sugar-coated exterior and a soft, red velvet interior, they’re sure to be a hit with your loved ones. Easy to make and delicious to eat, these cookies are a sweet addition to any celebration.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp red food coloring (liquid or gel)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until creamy and smooth, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and red food coloring until the dough is fully combined and the color is evenly distributed.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. The dough will be soft and slightly sticky.
  6. Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, portion out the dough into small balls (about 1-inch in diameter).
  7. Roll each dough ball in powdered sugar until fully coated.
  8. Place the coated dough balls on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cookies have spread and the tops are cracked.
  10. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For an extra touch, you can sprinkle some heart-shaped sprinkles or colored sugar on top of the cookies before baking.
  • If you prefer, you can use a different color of food coloring to suit the occasion or your theme.
  • Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4-5 days.
