Description

These adorable Valentine Pink Donut Cakes are the perfect sweet treat to celebrate love! Soft, moist strawberry-flavored donuts, topped with a sweet pink glaze and colorful sprinkles make these the ultimate Valentine’s Day dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Donut Cakes:

  • 1 box strawberry cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup milk

For the Glaze and Toppings:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons milk (adjust for desired consistency)
  • A few drops of pink food coloring (optional)
  • Assorted sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Donut Batter: In a large mixing bowl, combine the strawberry cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and milk. Use a hand mixer or whisk to mix until the batter is smooth and lump-free.
  2. Fill the Donut Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a donut pan with non-stick spray or a thin coat of oil. Carefully spoon or pipe the batter into the prepared donut molds, filling each cavity about 2/3 full to allow room for rising.
  3. Bake the Donuts: Bake the donuts for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Remove the pan from the oven and let the donuts cool for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  4. Make the Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons of milk. Add more milk, 1 teaspoon at a time, until the glaze is smooth and reaches your preferred consistency. Stir in a few drops of pink food coloring for an extra pop of color (optional).
  5. Glaze and Decorate: Dip the top of each cooled donut into the glaze, letting any excess drip back into the bowl. Immediately sprinkle with your favorite colorful sprinkles before the glaze sets.

Notes

  • You can use any cake mix flavor for this recipe, but strawberry cake mix gives it a lovely pink color and flavor perfect for Valentine’s Day.
  • Adjust the milk in the glaze for a thicker or thinner consistency based on your preference.
