Description

This Valentine’s Day Baked Donuts Bouquet is a fun and creative way to gift a delicious treat to your loved ones. Soft, fluffy baked donuts topped with vibrant frosting and heart-shaped sprinkles, arranged in a beautiful bouquet that’s perfect for any Valentine’s celebration.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Donuts:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Optional: 1/2 tsp cinnamon or nutmeg for extra flavor

For the Frosting:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk (or more for desired consistency)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Red or pink food coloring (optional)
  • Heart-shaped sprinkles or any decorative sprinkles (optional)

For the Bouquet:

  • Wooden skewers or lollipop sticks
  • Floral foam or a small vase to hold the bouquet
  • Ribbon for decoration (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Donut Pan:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 6- or 12-cavity donut pan.
  2. Make the Donut Batter:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and any optional spices (cinnamon or nutmeg).
In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, melted butter, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract.
Gradually combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients, stirring until just incorporated. Be careful not to overmix.
  3. Fill the Donut Pan:
Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full. If you have a piping bag, you can use that to pipe the batter into the pan for a cleaner fill.
  4. Bake the Donuts:
Bake the donuts for 12-15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the donuts cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  5. Prepare the Frosting:
In a small bowl, mix the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add a few drops of food coloring to achieve a pink or red color if desired, and stir until fully incorporated.
  6. Frost the Donuts:
Once the donuts have cooled, dip the tops of each donut into the frosting. Allow the excess frosting to drip off, then place the donuts back on the wire rack to set. You can also drizzle the frosting over the donuts using a spoon for a more artistic touch.
  7. Decorate the Donuts:
While the frosting is still soft, sprinkle the donuts with heart-shaped sprinkles or any decorative sprinkles of your choice. Allow the frosting to fully set.
  8. Assemble the Donut Bouquet:
Insert wooden skewers or lollipop sticks into the base of each donut to create a “bouquet” effect. Arrange the donuts in a small vase or floral foam, securing them with ribbons or decorative fillers to hold them in place.
  9. Serve and Enjoy:
Present the donut bouquet as a unique and thoughtful Valentine’s gift or serve it as a sweet treat for your celebration!
