Ingredients

Scale

For the Strawberry Layer:

  • 2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup freeze-dried strawberries, crushed into a powder
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pink food coloring (optional)

For the Shortcake Layer:

  • 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup shortbread cookies, crushed into small pieces (about 68 cookies)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

For Decoration (optional):

  • Heart-shaped sprinkles
  • Crushed freeze-dried strawberries or shortbread crumbs

Instructions

  1. For the Strawberry Layer:

    1. Prepare the Pan:
      • Line an 8×8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent the fudge from sticking.
    2. Melt the White Chocolate:
      • In a medium saucepan, combine the white chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk over low heat. Stir constantly until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
    3. Add Strawberry Flavor:
      • Stir in the crushed freeze-dried strawberries and vanilla extract. Add a few drops of pink food coloring if you want a more vibrant pink color.
    4. Layer the Strawberry Fudge:
      • Pour the strawberry fudge mixture into the prepared pan and spread it into an even layer. Place it in the fridge to set while you prepare the shortcake layer.

    For the Shortcake Layer:

    1. Melt the White Chocolate:
      • In the same saucepan, melt the white chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth and creamy.
    2. Add Crushed Shortbread:
      • Stir in the crushed shortbread cookies and vanilla extract. Mix well to evenly distribute the cookie pieces.
    3. Layer the Shortcake Fudge:
      • Pour the shortcake fudge mixture over the chilled strawberry fudge layer. Spread it evenly with a spatula.
    4. Chill the Fudge:
      • Place the pan in the refrigerator for at least 2-3 hours, or until the fudge is fully set and firm to the touch.

    For Decoration:

    1. Decorate the Fudge:
      • Once the fudge has set, remove it from the pan and cut it into squares. Optionally, sprinkle with heart-shaped sprinkles or crushed freeze-dried strawberries or shortbread crumbs for an extra festive touch.
    2. Serve and Enjoy:
    • Serve the Strawberry Shortcake Fudge chilled and enjoy the sweet combination of strawberry and shortcake in every bite!

Notes

  • Make sure to crush the freeze-dried strawberries into a fine powder so it blends evenly into the fudge.
  • If you can’t find freeze-dried strawberries, you can substitute strawberry extract or strawberry-flavored gelatin powder for flavoring, though the texture may differ slightly.
  • The fudge can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
