Ingredients
Scale
- 8–10 frozen dumplings (potstickers or any variety of your choice)
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for frying)
- 2 cups mixed salad greens (lettuce, spinach, arugula, etc.)
- 1/2 cucumber, julienned
- 1 carrot, julienned
- 1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
- 1 tablespoon crushed peanuts or cashews (optional, for garnish)
- For the dressing:
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional, for spice)
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the frozen dumplings and fry until golden and crispy on both sides (about 4-5 minutes per side). Once crispy, remove them from the pan and set aside on paper towels to drain.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the salad greens, cucumber, carrot, red onion, and cilantro.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, sesame oil, grated ginger (if using), and chili flakes (if using) to create the dressing.
- Pour the dressing over the salad mixture and toss to combine, ensuring everything is well coated.
- Once the dumplings have cooled slightly, chop them into bite-sized pieces and add them to the salad.
- Toss the salad gently and sprinkle with sesame seeds and crushed peanuts or cashews for added crunch and flavor.
- Serve immediately and enjoy this crispy, refreshing salad!
Notes
- You can use any type of dumplings you prefer—vegetarian, pork, chicken, or shrimp all work great!
- If you prefer a milder salad, omit the chili flakes from the dressing.
- For an extra crunch, add fried shallots or crispy rice noodles as a garnish.
- This salad is best served fresh. If you want to prep it ahead of time, store the salad and dressing separately, and add the dumplings just before serving to maintain their crispiness.
