- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp matcha powder
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup white chocolate chips
- 1 tbsp milk (for brushing)

- Preheat & Prep: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Make the Dough:
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, matcha powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the cold cubed butter and cut it into the dry ingredients using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, egg, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the flour mixture and gently mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in the white chocolate chips.
- Shape the Scones:
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and shape it into a 1-inch thick disc.
- Cut into 8 wedges or use a round cutter for a more traditional scone shape.
- Place scones on the prepared baking sheet and brush the tops with extra heavy cream.
- Bake:
- Bake for 15-18 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let them cool on a wire rack.
Prepare the Glaze (Optional):

- In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Drizzle over the cooled scones.

- Storage: These scones are best enjoyed fresh, but you can store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2-3 days.
- Freezing: To freeze, place the scones on a baking sheet in the freezer for 1-2 hours until firm, then transfer them to a freezer-safe bag or container. They can be frozen for up to 3 months. To reheat, bake from frozen at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes.
