Description

Savor the rich flavors of a Ribeye Steak paired with succulent shrimp in a garlic butter sauce. This skillet meal is perfect for a special dinner or a delightful surf-and-turf treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ribeye steaks (about 1 inch thick)
  • 12 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil (divided)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (for shrimp)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (for shrimp)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)
  • Fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs (optional for added flavor)

Instructions

  • Season the Steaks: Remove the ribeye steaks from the fridge and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. Pat them dry and season generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  • Sear the Steaks: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the ribeye steaks. Sear for 4-5 minutes on each side, adjusting for your desired doneness (medium-rare: about 130°F/54°C).
  • Add Butter and Herbs: In the last minute of cooking, add 1 tablespoon of butter and rosemary or thyme sprigs (if using). Spoon the melted butter over the steaks for extra flavor. Remove from skillet and let rest.
  • Season the Shrimp: In a small bowl, toss the shrimp with paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Cook the Shrimp: In the same skillet, heat the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. Add the seasoned shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through.
  • Finish with Butter: Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter and stir until melted, coating the shrimp in garlic butter sauce.
  • Serve: Plate the ribeye steaks alongside the shrimp. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges for squeezing over the shrimp.

Notes

  • For an extra rich flavor, deglaze the skillet with a splash of white wine or beef broth after cooking the shrimp.
  • Allowing the ribeye to rest after cooking helps retain its juices.
