Made with simple, dog-safe ingredients, these treats are creamy, healthy, and sure to have your dog wagging its tail for more. Packed with the goodness of yogurt and a few other wholesome ingredients, these treats are easy to make and fun to share with your pup!
Ingredients
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (unsweetened and unflavored)
- 1/2 cup peanut butter (ensure it doesn’t contain xylitol, as it is toxic to dogs)
- 1/2 banana, mashed (optional for extra flavor)
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional, check if your dog has any issues with honey)
- Silicone molds or ice cube tray (for shaping treats)
Instructions
-
Prepare the Ingredients:
In a mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt and peanut butter. Stir well until smooth and fully combined. If you’re adding mashed banana, incorporate it into the mixture at this point. -
Add Sweetener (Optional):
If you’re using honey, add the tablespoon to the mixture and stir until fully blended. You can skip the honey if you prefer a less sweet treat. -
Fill Molds or Tray:
Pour the mixture into silicone molds or an ice cube tray. Gently tap the tray or mold on the counter to remove any air bubbles and make sure the mixture is evenly distributed. -
Freeze the Treats:
Place the molds in the freezer for 2-3 hours, or until the treats are completely frozen and firm. -
Serve and Store:
Once frozen, remove the treats from the molds and serve immediately to your pup. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
- Always check with your vet before introducing new treats to your dog’s diet, especially if your dog has allergies or sensitivities.
- You can use other dog-safe ingredients such as pumpkin puree or sweet potato for added nutrients and flavor.
- If your dog is lactose intolerant, opt for a lactose-free yogurt option.
