Description

Spicy, crunchy crackers infused with bold za’atar seasoning and a kick of chili heat—perfect for snacking, entertaining, or adding flair to cheese boards.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (11 oz) box oyster crackers
  • 1/3 cup canola or olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon za’atar seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (optional, depending on cracker saltiness)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together oil, za’atar, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt.
  3. Add the oyster crackers and toss until all are well-coated with the spice mixture.
  4. Spread the crackers in an even layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 15–20 minutes, stirring halfway through, until lightly golden and crisp.
  6. Let cool completely before storing in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Za’atar blends vary—taste yours first and adjust salt or lemony flavor as needed.
  • These crackers keep well in an airtight container for up to a week.
  • Great for topping soups or salads, or serving with hummus or labneh.
