Description

Crispy fries tossed with fragrant za’atar spice blend, served with a creamy and tangy tahini dipping sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large potatoes, cut into fries
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp za’atar spice blend
  • Salt to taste
  • For the tahini sauce:
  • 1/3 cup tahini
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 23 tbsp water (to thin)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 220°C (430°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Toss the potato fries with olive oil, za’atar, and salt until evenly coated.
  3. Spread fries in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes, turning halfway through, until crispy and golden.
  5. Meanwhile, prepare the tahini sauce: whisk together tahini, lemon juice, garlic, and salt. Add water gradually until desired consistency is reached.
  6. Serve fries hot with tahini sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, soak potato fries in cold water for 30 minutes before baking, then dry thoroughly.
  • You can also deep-fry the fries if preferred.
  • Za’atar blend varies; adjust quantity according to your spice preference.
