- 12 oz fresh cranberries
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup water
- Zest of 1 orange
- Juice of 1 orange
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine fresh cranberries, honey, water, orange juice, orange zest, cinnamon stick, and salt.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- Once boiling, reduce heat to low and simmer for about 10 minutes until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat and let cool. The sauce will thicken further as it cools.
- Discard the cinnamon stick and transfer the sauce to a serving dish or storage container.
- Serve chilled or at room temperature alongside your favorite holiday meal.
Notes
- Allow the sauce to chill in the refrigerator for a couple of hours for the best flavor.
- You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey to taste.
